Sometimes I spend a lot of time
wondering:
To be or not to be
To be or not to be a grown-up
Walk a new road
Be fearless
and let the world implode
To be or not be independent
Make big decisions
Be courageous
and full of vibrant ambitions
To be or not be audacious
Live by the day
Be brave
and turn deaf to the he-say, she-say
To be or not to be this woman
Who can’t run to her dad
Like the little girl did
at the first hint of the day turning bad
To be or not to be who she’s supposed to
at the risk of forgetting known roads
and burning old bridges
Scared that she won’t find her way back
into her dads open arms
Where she’s that little girl,
carefree
Where she’s safe,
at peace
Where she’s herself
Where she belongs...
